This charcoal drawing is of a multi-storey car park to a shopping centre in the town where I grew up. It was constructed during my lifetime, and I worked during university vacations in the Boots Store. Now, many of the shops are vacant and the big names – including Boots – have moved to the out-of-town shopping centre. The car park reflects the deterioration in this part of town.
